Quincy Mumford & The Reason Why will be releasing their new album, Its Only Change, on July 30th.

Its Only Change was recorded in Nashville, TN with producer Ken Coomer (Wilco, Uncle Tupelo) and features performances from Jerry Roe (K.D. Lang)David Labruyere (John Mayer) and Aubrey Freed (Black Crowes, Sheryl Crow).

This is Quincy Mumford’s fifth release, and dude is just 21 years old, that’s impressive.

The cuts on the album range the gamut of genres, rock, soul, jazz, funk, and hip-hop can all be found on different tracks.  The artist himself attributes this to meshing all of his influences into one complete piece of work.  While that seems a bit risky, it manages to create an interesting mix of tunes that kind of surprises you each time they take a turn to a new sound.  It all comes together in an optimistic record, upbeat, jammy, easily summed up with that tried and true phrase, a “feel good” listening experience, and it ain’t nothing wrong with feeling good.
