ZG Smith, an indie folk singer-songwriter and artist, hails from Los Angeles, where he was raised by an English professor mother and a shipwreck diver father. During his youth, he excelled in music, particularly percussion, and experimented with various experiences. He pursued a degree in Ethnomusicology, focusing on Brazilian percussion, at UCLA. In his mid-twenties, he moved to Nashville, where he co-founded a successful rootsy Americana duo and toured extensively. Recently, he released his debut solo EP, “Nighttime Animal,” which has garnered attention and airplay from various media outlets. ZG Smith continues to tour selectively and work on new music.
