We didn’t really know what a cajone was until Wes and his boys rolled up, crammed 4 deep into a station wagon stuffed with other instruments. It made sense that they were using the funny lookin’ box with a hole in the middle as their percussion section, because drums weren’t fitting in their ride. However, once they sat that bad boy down on the front console and started slapping on it we realized they brought all the beat they needed. That’s when the jam van crew decided that we wanted to learn to play a damn cajone as well, that thing is terrific. You know what else is terrifc? The sound of a cajone in a jam van with some smooth guitars and crisp vocals. Wes Kirkpatrick in the morning ladies and gentlemen, live from the Jam Van, can’t get that nowhere else. Enjoy.
