It was July 4th weekend, hence the American flag on the drums. A nice touch, for as much as it sometimes pains to say it, it’s pretty damn good to live on Uncle Sam’s soil. Can’t be mad at freedom. Just think we could use less dumb people. The overkill of the latter makes the former seem a bit counterproductive sometimes. So we’re happy to fly the colors. Because regardless of the stupidities of things out of the realm of our control, it’s a place that lets us do this great thing, and meet these great people, great musicians.
Freedom opens you up to so many friends, for us, it’s people we encounter along this road that we’re rambling down blindly. They keep us inspired, dudes like these poets, and we hope our successes can contribute to their successes. It can be a heady little circle.
That’s all to say, these dudes, The Highway Poets, they know how to party. We always appreciate that, maybe as much as we appreciate all the other stuff I just talked about. So when the two appreciations combine. Yup…
