Low Cut Connie’s team sent the measurements for Adam’s piano in advance, and at 24.5 inches wide, it was just going to fit through the Van’s doorframe, which was essential because it’s a big part of their show. Then, about a day or so out from the shoot in Austin we noticed that Adam had gotten a new piano, he announced as much via Instagram and we circled back with his team who confirmed and informed us that the piano was now 25 inches wide… not ideal. So the night before the shoot we all conferred on a plan of attack and we were determined to figure out how the hell we were getting that piano into the van the following morning. The end all of this piano tale is anti-climactic, as Adam fell under the weather, and we had to scrap the shoot. However, as luck should have it, the Artisanals were in the neighborhood and they make really good music too. So we gave them a shout, they showed up to our little lakeside retreat in their repurposed retirement home van, played us this fine rock and roll and hung out for a while. We’ll take a raincheck on the piano…
