I know I’ve mentioned this same memory on this site before in reference to this band, but it works, so it ain’t broke, so I’m gonna mention it again. I remember being a senior in college and sitting in my dark and dingy apartment in Ann Arbor, MI, wondering what the hell I was going to do with my life after the blur of college passed. If you’ve ever been to Michigan, you may recall that it’s a very grey place. If you’ve ever graduated from college, you may recall that at times it’s a very grey moment in your life. So it’s quite funny that I have this distinct memory of playing a Tea Leaf Green song on repeat many, many times over, in an attempt to brighten up the greyness, in what was (and I cannot emphasize this enough) a very grey apartment.
So now in reflection I realize for one, how cool it is that almost a decade later these guys are playing private concerts in the confines of an RV that I built with my friends, and two, having met them a couple of times now, and having seen them up close and seen the enjoyment they have for playing music and for one another, and for being on the road in great and amusing places like Bottle Rock, where we could hardly contain them after the shoot long enough to take a group photo, that I realize why I played their song over and over so many times, all of those years ago. It’s because they’re good at writing songs that make you happy, and that’s a really, really good thing, and we’re really, really happy to share them with you…
