Everyone hanging around the pool clapped when PHOX stepped out of the Jam Van. In the desert an applause can carry. So even though it was only about twenty-five people who had just witnessed the performance, it was a boisterous applause, and deservedly so. The soft spoken musicians had just mesmerized all twenty-five. Because as well as an applause carries through the crisp desert air in the morning, the sound of beautiful music carries twice as well. So for about fifteen minutes everyone around that pool dazed off into their own little world and just listened to that sound carry. Never before has a Blink-182 song sounded so lovely. It was all very lovely, and I care to remember that entire weekend in that short moment, because it was pretty damn perfect…
