I’m going on my 11th year in Los Angeles.  It’s now the place that I’ve lived in for the longest out of any other city in my life.  I came out here a wide eyed kid fresh out of college who thought he was going to type his way into the movies.

This city, more-so than any other, is a place where dreamers come with their hopes and imagination packed up and slung over their shoulders.  You unroll your satchel of dreams in your first studio apartment or room and you arrange them with big ideas.  Be it index cards on the wall, or songs on your Soundcloud, they all seem like they’re going to be the one.  The next big hit, the move that puts you on the map… So you sit in traffic, and you keep dreaming.  As the years go by some of the dreamers take an off ramp and get the hell out of dodge, some take down their index cards and figure out a different move, and some keep dreaming.

I’m pretty sure Patrolled by Radar has been doing their thing for quite a few years out here.  When you meet them you can see that they’re pretty tenured musicians.  So after 11 years, for myself, I’m finally starting to see some return on those hours of sitting in traffic invested.  Index cards came down long ago, but the dreams keep coming.  It’s always comforting to see some other OG heads still living it with me…
