Otis Heat pulled into the parking lot at the Central S.A.P.C. right around when Skyline Drive was finishing their last couple of songs. Our external speaker system wasn’t working that day, and since Derek Thomas of Skyline Drive is a pretty soft singer, it was kind of hard to hear what was going on inside of the van for those of us on the outside. I was OK with that, because I knew I’d get to hear it in the comfort of my living room soon enough. On the other hand, Sean O’neill, lead singer and bassist for Otis Heat was not OK with that, and made sure to tell everyone makin’ racket around the van to Shush’on’it, because he was trying to hear the niceness that was going down inside… That’s a form of musical respect for those of you ingrates/inbreds/inverts/jackasses out there who need schoolin’ as to manners and such. That’s not to say you can’t be wild and proper at the same time. If’n you don’t believe me, watch what Sean and the rest of Otis Heat did to shake this bad’motha’of’a’motor’home down when it was their turn to rock. No speakers were necessary.
