High Sierra Music Festival does not have a “No Shirt, No Shoes, No Service” sign posted when you walk through the front gates. Quite contrary, when you walked through that front gate this year your eyes first glanced upon the Jam Van, and if you were lucky there was a band inside of it and your ears could get a little “welcome home.”

Moon Hooch didn’t wear shirts or shoes, and they knew how to play by all of the High Sierra rules. That means you dance until you’re dizzy, smile until your hearts content, the funkier the better, and above all, you keep it heady. These cats did all a that so well that Mr. Spudnik told them that it was an honor to have had them play our van. Now Spud has seen a lot of bands come and go through that vehicle over the years, but he’s only been honored a handful of times. So Moon Hooch, be honored that you’re an honor, and now we pass that honor along…
