The melodious music of singer/songwriter Matt Costa from California fuses his passion for ’60s folk, the British Invasion, ’70s AM pop, and ’80s college rock. Starting with a reissue of his initial 2005 LP a year later, his first four albums were brought out by Jack Johnson’s Brushfire Records, among them 2008’s Unfamiliar Faces, marking his debut on the Billboard 200 chart. Costa proceeded to craft songs and instrumental pop tracks for the 2016 documentary “Orange Sunshine,” subsequently transitioning to Dangerbird Records for his individual releases, which encompassed his sixth studio album, “Yellow Coat,” in 2020.
