We were in the deep middle of nowhere Texas in the Jam Van and we stopped for lunch at a place called Mom’s which looked like a house, and had a lady who was actually Mom cooking the food. It was pretty solid Mexican cuisine, I had the combination plate, the brisket taco was my favorite thing on it. They had ample parking because you can pretty much park on the dirt anywhere on exits like that. The Van always looks good against a rural dustbowl kind of backdrop, if you can imagine. You get good looks from the other folks at the restaurants and gas stations too, a lot snap photos, some have even seen our videos. Kalu & The Electric Joint would have been a good session to play when we pulled up to Mom’s… next time.
