I never had siblings, so I certainly never started a band with any of my siblings, nor would I pretend to understand the type of relationship or bond involved in such an endeavor. I don’t have any reference to comment on whether this is an extremely difficult task or an overly rewarding experience. I’d assume it’s a little from column a, a little from column b.
What I do know is that we’ve come across these musical units quite a few times. There were the diminutive in size but not sound sisters in Atlanta, and the gigantic brothers in Telluride, CO. Or the combo we came across in Tennessee who just came straight out with it and told us off the bat that “He’s My Brother, She’s My Sister.” We’ve seen musical families many times over in every region of this here USA. They come in all types of different configurations, sometimes it’s just a family affair, other times they’ve added some new musical relations along the way. With each new family comes a unique sound. With each new sound comes new wonderment about how they got that sound, how they grew up so close, how they keep it going on the road? This one right here, Joseph, it’s a doozy. I don’t know who’s older or if they’re twins or really anything about this family other than that they are functioning harmonically on some type of level that most everyone else is not functioning on, and that’s a trip in itself…
