When you’re in high school you don’t really have a concept of how fast it’s going by. In fact, at the time it seems like it’s going painfully slow. The regimented schedule, the awkwardness of being a teenager, the rules and regulations of living under your parents’ roof. When you’re in high school it’s more than likely that all you want to be is not in high school.
Give it about ten years after you toss that square cap into the air and walk off the stage with that rolled up piece of paper. By then you’re able to take stock of the blurr of time that flashed by you. You can’t ever get it back, none of the mistakes, none of the glories. As much as you want to relive or redo, you can’t. You can only shake your head in awe of where it all went.
So if you are still in high school like a couple of the cats in this band, live it up, play your music loud, stay out past your curfew, drive your parents crazy. Because by the time you’re going to want to be in high school, you’re going to never be in high school again. If that doesn’t make much sense now, don’t sweat it, it will one day, and until then, it’s only rock and roll…
